The Photo of Santiago McKinn
I don't normally explain my picture titles because I like the viewer to decide for themselves what the title means to them (even though each one has a special meaning to me). However, this title references another photo through a roundabout way that I think warrants a little explanation.
The title refers to an ambient/new-age composition by Harold Budd named the "The Photo of Santiago McKinn." His inspiration for that song actually came from an actual photograph of a young boy called Jimmy "Santiago" Mckinn. Jimmy was kidnapped by the Apache Indians, specifically by Geronimo himself, circa 1885. Jimmy was found by his father the next day face down in the desert.
The photograph that inspired Harold Budd to compose his music, is the music that has inspired me to capture this moment in another photograph.
